My neighbor is an 85 yr. old female, widowed approx 1 year ago. She has short term memory loss, possibly due to Alzheimer’s. Beginning about 4 months ago she started complaining about imaginary people in her back yard, sometimes doing damage to her property, sometimes just hanging around out there. Her son (approx 60 yrs. old) lives with her and just tells her "There is nobody out there" and she gets angry at him. I have gone over a couple of ...

Hi, My name is Hunter, for a while now I have thought that I just had a lot of rage bottled inside of me, but I notice that anytime I get angry I do not act like myself ie. I would tell others how to handle a certain situation (mostly when angry)from my point of view when I am happy and calm, but when I get really angry myself I handle it completely differently feeling and knowing that this isn't me but as hard ...

During the summer this year I began researching the debate between evolution and religion. That was the biggest mistake of my life. My research caused me to develop an anxiety about life and death. I feared that there's nothing after this life. I wanted to know if there is an afterlife, and I eventually found what I was looking for. Being a scientific person, I can only believe something if it has good evidence to support it. Thankfully reincarnation fit that category. I learned about ...

My boyfriend and I have been together for almost 4 years. He is significantly younger than me and it has been a rough road. He has come a long way and really does try to be more mature and responsible than he has been in the past. He wasn't shown alot of affection and encouragement as a child and has a hard time giving and receiving love. He is very insecure and it comes across as alot of false bravado. ...

I've had depression just about all my life. I was a social reject all through school and was mentally and physically abused by my parents. My dr put me on antidepressants (ludiomil) in about 1980 when I started having constant thoughts about suicide, and that seemed to work for the depression but left me feeling zombified, oversedated and with near constant headaches. I had enough after a couple of years of those and quit taking them. I was also breaking up with my SO who ...

Hi. I'm 19 and my girlfriend and I have been dating for over 2 years now. Let me say that we do love each other very much. I met her when I had no friends and was mildly depressed. She was moderatly depressed when I met her. We have gone through a ton together and its made us very very close. I am no longer depressed and she is only a tiny bit depressed still. My problem is that I am very controlling of her ...

I don't know where to start. I woke up the other morning in complete and total panic. I was shaking and I had diarrhea. I became overheated. I had a weird thought that I was being possessed. Why would I think that? Now for the last 4 days, I have been experiencing horrible anxiety that only disappears when I am working because then I am busy and do not have time to think. I am under a lot of stress. I lost my mother ...

I have a childhood friend who had the worst tragedy of anyone that I have ever heard. Before I tell you what happened, I want to tell you a little bit about him. He is extremely intelligent and has a really good heart. He has the brains to do just about anything. The problem is besides intelligence, he is disadvantage in every other way. He is overweight and not very socially smart. He has also struggled with attention ...

I was diagnosed as severe DID a year ago. I literally have very little memory of my past growing up and quite a few adulthood memories. I have been known to forget conversations I've had, things I've done or told someone. In certain situations I completely forget my address or phone number. The reason I question the diagnosis is because currently I do not lose time anymore, yet I am what is suggested as co-conscious because I am sometimes aware of what is happening or ...

I met my husband 3 1/2 yrs ago after he moved across the country to Florida. I later discovered that he had been married before and had 3 DUIs in which he had lied to me about. For the first 1 1/2 yrs, he was in a program which he was monitored for drugs/alcohol so our relationship was very good. We're both pharmacists. Then during my pregnancy he started drinking all the time (passing out). He promised he'd quit when the baby came. I left ...

Hi. I asked a question on here before and was asked to think about letting her know how i was doing. My previous question was: Why Do I Talk Like a Baby To Husband?
I went to my evaluation. I was SO Scared and Nervous i can barely remember it but the woman was very nice. We addressed my two biggest issues which were my depression and anxiety. I have been taking Lexapro since then so it's been about 8 months i do believe. I find ...

I had level c3/c4 disc replacement surgery. Two weeks afterward I fell into severe depression. Is it possible that the depression was caused by the spinal cord decompression? I had the herniated disc for 5 years with severe compression. Could the change have caused the depression or perhaps the general anesthesia?
A. It is difficult to pinpoint the source of the depression, especially when I have so little information about your situation. Broadly speaking, it is likely that the depression is related to ...
